The Foundation Pupils Award for All Round Excellence 2021

The Foundation Pupils Association are a past pupils group limited to pupils who attended Cashmere High School in the first 5 years. It is through this group of Foundation Pupils that the Cashmere High School Foundation Trust was established, to ensure Cashmere High School was supported by its past students well into the future. Many years ago the Foundation Past Pupils set up a Year 13 award for the graduating student displaying All Round Excellence.
The Foundation Pupils All Round Excellence Prize
This is a Prize of $1,000 established by the Foundation Pupils Association for the Year 13 student who shows all round excellence in both curricular and co-curricular areas including:
Academic, sporting, cultural achievement (including Music and Drama), and service to the school
William Hanlon is the winner of the Foundation Pupils All-Round Excellence Prize in 2021.

William had top 3 rankings in Japanese, Calculus, Chemistry and Physics in 2021.

His leadership skills are integral to the student body of our school and he has made a difference in our school community through Music, Sport, and in his service to others. In 2021, William was selected into the New Zealand Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra, won several awards at the Ara Jazz Festival, and is a key leader in our school orchestra. He is also an able sports person, representing New Zealand for Korfball and making a real difference in growing the game at our school and in our region. He is an inspirational public speaker, recently speaking about harnessing difference for a stronger society alongside Kat Stevens and the NZ Governor-General at the launch of an anti-racism initiative called The Christchurch Invitation – Mahia te Aroha. William has seized the opportunity to live out our school’s COVE values and is a very worthy recipient of this premier award.

Congratulations to William Hanlon, the winner of the All Round Excellence award for 2021.
