2022 August

On Tuesday, 16th August, Cashmere High School was delighted to open it’s new Alumni Art Collection, which was funded and enabled by the Cashmere High School Foundation Trust as a result of a generous donation from Foundation pupil, Mr John Blunt. Those in attendance included staff, current arts students, Foundation pupils, representatives from the Foundation Trust and Board of Trustees, and the artist of one of the artworks. All enjoyed admiring the stunning artworks whilst mingling over drinks and nibbles.

The artworks are on display in the Performing Arts Centre and, as per Mr Blunt’s wishes, the Foundation Trust in conjunction with the school chose artworks that have all been produced by former pupils who have gone on to have a successful career in art. It was Mr Blunt’s desire that these artworks be displayed where they can inspire current and future art students who are considering pursuing their own careers in artistic pursuits.

Artists whose works were chosen for this collection are Euan Macleod (Class of 1974), Asher Newbery (Class of 2003), Jacob Ryan (Class of 2005) and Tyne Gordon (Class of 2006).

The school is extremely grateful to John Blunt for making this display a reality.
